Home Grown in Illinois is a labor of love, owned and operated by Mark and Samantha Schaeffer. Over the years, our garden has blossomed into Samantha’s passion, expanding to over 3,000 square feet of vibrant growing space. What started as a simple garden has now grown into a local business where we nurture, cultivate, and share our bounty.

We grow and sell plants locally, preserve fresh food for our family, and always have a little extra to share with friends and neighbors. Our journey has also led us to save and sell seeds—our way of celebrating both classic heirloom varieties and rare, artisanal gems. We’re passionate about bringing unique flavors and new varieties to the market, with flavor always taking center stage in our seed selection.
